what's wrong with this Rhino 700 FI Auto

idk what's wrong with my BIL's Rhino 700 FI Auto. There's always trouble with it, like it's actually hate him lol.

This time it starts up fine and runs normally for a little while (5 to 15 minutes). But then, when it slow down or stop, it just dies. After that, it won't start again.

He think it's a spark problem. He even put in a new, stronger fuel pump because he use it a lot for off roading.

It seemed to fix it for about a week, but then the same problem came back. Sometimes it starts and dies quickly, other times it won't start at all. It's super random haha

he rebuilt the engine (it's got about 100 hours on it), the engine has good pressure, the fuel pump is new, the exhaust is all new, and they even put in a new coil

He checked for spark and had none, so changed the spark plug and that new coil.

It started, but then died again after a few minutes and wouldn't restart.

They even tried putting the old plug and coil back in, and it ran okay for a few days before doing the same thing again.

Basically, this machine is a constant headache lol.

He need it for off roading and yard work, but it never runs reliably. He's asking for help to figure out what's wrong.

It's probably an electrical/ignition problem, and yes, it's pretty frustrating. the very common problem that comes into my mind at the moment is bad cdi/ecu meaning when it heats up it cuts sparks until it cools down. Next time this happens test spark immediately before it cools down and cool down the cdi with ice or air. If it restarts again then the problem is with the smoking gun.

probably heat related electrical issue. ignition module or CDI could be crapping out once it warms up. Coil and plug swaps won't fix that so you have to tell him to test spark right after it dies hot, if there isn't any spark, then the CDI or stator is probably toast.

Yep, agree. Maybe check the stator or ignition switch, some have had issues there that caused random dying and no-starts. Has the voltage been tested at the coil when it dies? Could help narrow it down.
