Could this be decompression?

So on my 2006 660, sometimes I turn the key and get nothing, then I try again and it starts perfect. Could this be a decompression issue? anyone dealt with this before?

That's strange... While it probably isnt a decompression issue, it could be something as simple as a loose connection or a faulty relay. Have you checked the battery terminals or ignition switch? Sometimes those small things can cause intermittent starting issues. Feels like your bike's throwing you a bit of a curveball could be fun to track down!

I don't think it's a decompression issue. That system helps with the engine cranking, not with intermittent starting after the key is turned. more likely, you've got some electrical gremlins messing with ya for that on-again, off-again start

Hmm. Like @RainyDay I don't believe it's a decompression issue that's too much of a stretch. Most likely it's something about the ignition switch contacts. Just try wiggle the key or clean it. Orrr you might need to clean/tighten the battery terminals as well.

I agree, not a decompression issue. usually it's the ignition switch, this is a HUGE culprit on older Rhinos.
The electrical contacts inside the switch can wear out or get corroded. So, sometimes when you turn the key, it just doesn't make a good connection. Trying again can sometimes wiggle it into place
