I think I broke my engine?

So here's the deal, according to the manual of my '12 450 the one way bearing should spin clockwise freely, but that made my engine make a bad noise. Works great spinning counterclockwise though. anyone know why the manual might be wrong?

that's really interesting, maybe the manual needs a revision
 
Yeah, that's weird, if it only runs smooth counterclockwise, maybe the manual's wrong or your bearing's installed backward, it could be a misprint...wouldn't be the first time
 
You’re not crazy, Yamaha manuals have had that exact typo before. If it freewheels one way and locks the other without noise, trust the part, not the book. If it was backwards, it wouldn’t work smoothly in either direction.
